Zone
Alarm Pro seems to do strange things with mapped
drives.
I
had
a problem whereby all my mapped drives were visible after bootup.
Connect to the net and my drives were still
available
Diconnect from the net, lost all network drives
and the
only way to get them back was to reboot.
I
didnt find a cure for it, I just stopped using ZoneAlarm Pro. It was a
major
headach for me because my email file resides on my laptop and I map to it
from
the desktop machine. After checking email andf then disconnecting I could
no
longer access any of my mail without rebooting. Strangely though, it
attempts to
open a file via the network then hangs. It means you also have to force the
closure of the file on the remote machine otherwise it thinks the file is
in use

One
thought on your problem, Try changing your network settings to "Quick
Logon"
that way it doesnt verify the drive is available until the first time you
try to
access it. It is the way I have set mine because the machines I map to
arent
always present and it stops anoying dialog boxes popping up asking if you
wish
to reconnect next time.

I've just got rid of blackice defender and
moved
over to zonealarm pro. This is installed on my ICS gateway machine. On this
machine I connect to a network drive on another machine at boot up. Now
when
to ICS machine boots up, i get a dialog 'share not found, do you want to
reconnect at boot up' (not exact wording).
Once the machine has finished booting up, i
can
manually reconnect the drive OK. All shares on my LAn are visible...It just
seems to be the drive i want to connect at boot up thats the problem (at
this
point in the boot, zonealarm doesn't even seem to be loaded
yet)
