I wonder if the e-smith server will also

Have you looked at the E-Smith server? it's a fairly
standard linux
based server with a very nice web admin interface ....
and
some mp3
streaming plugins that allow access from any standard web
browser. Nice
GUI it is too :-)
You do however need a dedicated
machine for it, but it does far more
than mp3 streaming. I can provide
more info if asked.
