Having had to work in lofts in the middle of the summer I would not put ANY
equipment up there unless you built a special air conditioned room for the
equipment.
Very cold in winter
Very hot in summer
Often dusty.
electronic equipment works best when kept at a fairly constant temperature.
Constant heating and cooling caused fatigue in components due to
expansion/contraction with temperature change.
Likewise if you do built a cupboard in the bedroom and you have Servers in
there be prepared for a warm bedroom.

Subject: [ukha_d] Noise from Node Zero
As I'm surveying the carnage that is my rewiring project I'm
wondering about changing the plans for node zero. Currently I'm
planning on routing everthing to the far corner of the loft where the
aerial comes in. However after the recent heat wave I'm worried that
it will be too hot up there. The master bedroom has an unused
cupboard which is quite large and an idea candidate for patch bays,
racks, amps etc. My only worry is turning my bedroom into a machine
room and not being able to sleep in piece and quiet due to the wirr
of fans and the like. Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions? (eg.
loft will be ok homevision can run in temps up to x degrees, or use
the built in cupboard but use _this_ soundproofing) etc. etc.
