I have something similar set up. On my Pronto there are a couple of macros
set up for example "Bed Time" turns off all the av kit, starts a
timer on
the PC to dim the livingroom lights to 50% in 1 minute and then off in 5
minutes, the hall light leading up stairs 6 minutes later and the outside
lights 10 minutes .

All this is from one button which triggers for example A1 off - the res of
the macro is handled by the PC. I.E When A1 OFF run the bedtime macro ,
the IR7243 isn't the bottle neck, it's the X10 Protocol but I've never had
any trouble at all - though I am only sending it two commands.

I did some testing when setting up, I could point the Pronto in the
general direction of the AV rack, push the button on the Pronto and the
lights would go off before I managed to put the remote down.. besides that
we're not talking time-critial here, I'd aim for 1 command every 0.5 sec
max..

A.

Subject: [ukha_d] IR7243 send gap

I baught an IR7243 from Letautomate the other day (less than 24hrs from
order
to doorstep!!), and I'm writing a Misterhouse script to respond to the
signals it sends out.

I've downloaded one of the pronto CCF's from remotecentral (I went for
some
shady character called Timothy Morris, sounds dodgy to me :-) on Ant's
advice
I went for the older single house code version, and I'm going to build my
macros around the ir7243 sending a series of signals, ie a 1 followed by a
1
is "We're going to bed" and that will fire off a predefined macro
(outside

lights to let the dog go and pee, turn the TV on upstairs and set a timer
to
switch it off in an hour or so, that kind of thing)

Does anyone else have this kind of setup with their pronto? what kind of
delay do you put in between the X10 IR going out of the pronto? How
quickly
can the IR7243 respond?
