Re: Recommendations for IR

Title: Recommendations for IR
I use a PC-Remote from www.concept-devices.com ...works great :-) although i use it with homeseer, not the supplied software.

I think it's about £60.

I later found out it's possible to build the same thing for a lot cheaper..the plans are at www.ziplabel.com

Subject: [ukha_d] Recommendations for IR

All,
Can any/(all?) recommend a suitable IR interface for the PC?

Requirements:
be able to learn IR commands
direct cable connection to PC (not via X10)
include an IR blaster for transmission controlled directly from PC

The ones I have seen so far all seem to be a bit OTT, in that all the work seems to be performed within the included hardware box. This seems to be a bit wasteful given that its connected to a PC...

any suggestions?

cheers

John
