Re: Foundations are in!

Reinforcing what the guys have said: when our house was being build (its
not
a self build) we had the builder install CAT-5 to each room in the house.
at
the time I thought I was going way OTT.

About six months ago I started recabling the structured cabling of the
house
(not an easy task to retrofit), and have installed four cat-5 cables and a
SCART AV cable to each point in the house. each of the major rooms now has
two or three points.

yesterday, I started tinkering around with the PCBs for IR Distribution,
and
thats me down to a single pair in the Living Room-1 point.

Basically, go way OTT with Cat-5, then add a couple of extra cables for
good
measure.

Ian.
