First, i hope you enjoy this group.
Several on this list have started from scratch, as you are dooing.
You will get losts of advice here, my advice is :-
1) put loads of cat 5 in
2) put more cat 5 in
3) just fo good measure add more cat5.
You may think this is a joke, it is not I have put loads in and it is
not enough.
4) run one cat5 through every room in a bus form for DS 1 wire temp
sensors.
5) Get comfort.
6) Get homevision
7) Home run every light fitting to a consumer unit.
8) dedicated wall skts for lights should be Kliks or other non
standard skts
9)Run home run cat5 from every light switch to node 0
10) run 5a t&e from every light sw to node 0 just incase you sell up.
11) get a pronto.
12) If you are going to have a office with a pc on all the time make
sure the room is sound tight.
13) Fit moterised valves on the CH if you are using rads for each
zone and run back to node 0.
14) If your site is exposed and you dont want to do 13 get a good
heating controler with compensation, and PID. By that i mean a
proportional valve control not just a moterised valve.
15) put more 13a skts in
16) put more cat 5 in
17) read this lists archives
18) get some ddar'e
19) put some more cat5 in
20) run cat 5 to each main outside door
21) run screened cable for each door station, and keypads for comfort.
22) Tag every cablel
23) keep cat 5 clear of mains, cross at 90o and try to keep at more
than 18" away if it has to run parrellel
24) for downfeeds use min Ct100 or Ct125 coax
25) put some more cat 5 in.
Sorry for the bad spelling. working on a epod...
