Re: Re: Genie SMS service

Title: Re: [ukha_d] Re: Genie SMS service
I have used Genie for this service for about a year - I als use some of the other message functions. Some days it doesn't work but in the main I have found it very good. When I have an urgent message eg 'alarm' condition t report I send twice , the second time using another service but this was an 'included bonus' in my monthly sub package so it's no use me suggesting it t you
I have just checked the service is working and I sent an email t myself and it was received by SMS within 10 seconds..
I did at one time use the send sms message web page on Genie but they changed something which broke how I had implemented it - it can probably be done still but I haven't re-looked at it.

Thanks for all the comments guys, seems Genie is a non-starter then, - I
want it t be reliable, - I am setting up some Homeseer events that I want
t SMS me, and I need t count on them getting t me!

I'll check out the alternatives, - anyone have any recommendations? - I'm on
BT Cellnet (and changing is not an option), so a <Vodafone/Orange/whatever>
only solution is no use t me. I als need one that will forward via an
email address, not one which requires going t a website...
