It was yes.

Basically my valve was stuck in the central heating position so when
turning on the hot tap, the boiler was feeding the radiators rather
than the hot water pipes. Once the radiators reached full
temeperature, the pressure was sufficient to move the valave very
slightly hence my getting a little hot water after the radiators
became hot.

All the micro switches and pumps were working correctly, just the
actual valve developed a fault and going by what I have seen of it,
it appears to be a sealed non serviceable part.
