555 timer running as a 22kHz oscilator driving a Piezo Horn.

555 timer and components about 2-3 quid
Piezo Horn about 7 quid.

You should be able to build it for a tenner.

or use this http://www.magenta2000.co.uk/kits/812.htm

Subject: [ukha_d] diy ultrasonic cat scarer

hi

i want to scare some cats from my garden (mainly because i have young
kids, and don't want them to catch toxoplasmosis (or whatever))
otherwise cats are fine!!!

i know there are cat ultrasonic cat scarers out there, but they are
in the 40 pounds region

i want to see if i can get an ultrasonic transducer
(Piezoelectric???) to vibrate at 18 - 22.5 kHz, but i don't want t
have to build any extra circuitry

i will then link the whole thing into homevision

any ideas

rid
