Prices in Singapore seemed t  be on par with (or marginally cheaper
than) California (my original home).  Definitely cheaper than the UK.=20=20

If any of you get t  Singapore, there's a couple great places t  shop in
Singapore.  There's a "regular" IT mall (Funan Centre) that sells
HP/Compaq etc and then there's Sim Lim Square - 6 stories of small
places selling components...  it was heaven for me!  I bought a suitcase
full of stuff for my home machines and a few guys I work with.  (BTW,
there's also some fantastic home audio stores there - and they use UK
style plugs and 220/50!)

Sim Lim Square seemed t  have a level devoted t  home automation, but
that's a new area for me (countdown t  being a homeowner - 38 days!), so
I didn't notice if there was anything terribly exciting there or if it
was all just bog standard.

I still feel that the US/UK prices are around $1 t  =A31 shipping/VAT
aside.  I'm back in California pretty regularly for work so I save most
of my big component buys for trips back home.  I took a trip in late
June and it still seems that motherboards, processor etc were
cheaper.=20=20

I've noticed some pricing shifts on memory in the UK recently, finally
getting in line with the rest of the world, but most other components
seem more expensive.

Has anyone found a supplier they keep going back to?  I've most recently
dealt with the Overclocking guys since I'm trying t  fill 13 fan slots
on my new case - I want t  see how fast I can get this 1.4 Ghz Athlon
going!

...and the GeForce 3 video cards are, unfortunately, the same price
everywhere - bloody expensive!

the US t  UK differences have all but disappeared by the time you take
shipping into account (certainly no longer $1 =3D ?1 pricing). I know that

still get screwed on just about everything else, but this sort of stuff
