Mainly that there are no changes / modifications t  your player.

I would never buy a player that was not multi region but many people are
happy with the range of region 2 discs that are available ... also some of
the cheaper players from Tescos et al will play discs from different
regions
out of the box or with a remote handset hack but still leave macrovision
enabled.
