Loads of information, thanks everyone. I think either the modulator, or the
chip is the way to go. I was looking at the website for chipping, and it
looks like the sony DVP S335 player I bought is one of the most difficult
ones to DIY chip. Sending it accross the water is'nt really an option, so
maybe the modualtor is the best way to go. Does anyone know if this will
give me the same quality as the modulator in my video player did when I
played the good DVD through it ?

I know watching dvd via rf is sacriligious, but its my only option at this
stage, and dare I say it, the quality is still pretty dam good... I just
want to make sure that I will get the same quality using one of Keens's
external modulators, as I did through my video player. Also, does anone
know
if these modulators also modulate left and right audio ?

Thanks again,

I was lookign at the Keene website, and they seem t have 3 modulators
which may suit me, perhaps you could adivse which would be best...

The first on is a Universal RF modulator which will broadcast my video onto
chan 36

The second one is am RF through modulator, which I think is a better option
as I can then combine the DVD signal onto the one coax along with video and
cable.

The third is a wideband through modulator, probably the better ooption of
the three ? Do these modulators modulate both left and right audio ?

OK .. if RF is what you have then that's what you have.

The reason why the first disc may not have had the problem is simply that
it
may not have had the Macrovision flag enabled on the disc ... macrovision
is
added by the player not actually encoded int the data for the movie. If
the
player doesn't add it then it will work fine through the VCRs RF.
