I have used Norton 2000 since the days when I was beta testing w2k (it was one of the first t have a w2k compliant offering).  I guess the key messages are:

Make sure it periodically checks for updates t the virus signatures etc (for NAV2000, they seem t update them on a Wednesday).

Think if you want integration with the email client.

Get it t automatically scan your system on a regular basis (I schedule mine to do this after the weekly check for new virus signatures).

Have a system backup regime... a virus may still get through / your firewall may be compromised...

Funnily enough, its also recently come to my attention that I have (or had) no AV software. Unfunnily, I hav just spent the last two days re-formatting my Hard drive and down loading all the upgraded software that I had over the last two years as a consequence.  I have just yesterday also invested in a copy of Norton....... If anyone would advise a better alternative, let me know, cos I do NOT want t have t g through this again...

1) Grisofts T&C's exclude network usage.

2) Computer Associates have dropped the personal use program!
