Hi Gareth,

I have not got a gateway set but the NIC with the Cable Modem attached is on DHCP but my other NIC has got a fixed IP at this stage, I might change it later on as I am still working on the overall set-up of the HA system.

You have probably just seen I now have the web access after stopping TPF. I will get more time this w/e t play.

Thanks,

B.

Ensure that the system with WinRoute installed does NOT have a IP gateway specified for the NIC....as for that, that's all you do - I presume you've gone int "Interfaces" under WinRoute, and ensured that NAT is enabled for the Cable Modem dial up connection ?

Also, are you using DHCP for your other clients ? I have seen sometimes where even if you specify a valid IP for a client (ie 192.168.0.2), and a valid gateway (ie 192.168.0.1), it still wont initiate - but using DHCP will stop that (again, ensure the gateway is set on the clients t the server)

[ukha_d] WinRoute

Ok, so I have downloaded and installed WinRoute to have a look and now I can
not access the web! what have I missed?

I have a cable modem set to DHCP (NTL) and an internal NW card for my
domain.

NAT on for the Modem NW card and NAT off for the Domain NW card.

I assume it is a port thing but not sure, any advise would be gratefully
received.

BTW I have been running Tiny Personal Firewall for a month or so now, seems
t run well, does WinRoute take the place of TPF or complement each other.

Thanks,

B.
