I have a NTL cable modem (3COM CMX) and have managed to configure a NAT service t allow the unit t be shared between multiple systems.  The cable modem provides an Ethernet (Cat5 internal crossover) that is then connected t the server.  A secondary NIC within the server is then connected t the main Ethernet.

Through the use of an application called Winroute (www.tinysoftware.com) the local Ethernet traffic can be NAT'd and sent over the cable modem link.  This configuration has worked flawlessly for over a year and I highly recommend Winroute as a solution.

If you would like more details please let me know.

Regards
Steven

Hi

Using NTL cable modem, is internet sharing possible and what ways have
people done this ? This case (not at my house) they have one W2K and 1 w98.
Is it just ms internet sharing. Part two, in what form does the cable modem
take is it a internal card or a external unit ?

John
