You can als  use low voltage PROVIDED you

1) Use a transformer which is designed for dimming DON'T ASSUME YOU HAVE
THE
CORRECT ONE the wrong type CAN kill the dimmer in a few seconds

2) Don't use them in a dimmed mode for a long time, you will have t  run
them on full for the filament t  recover

With that said why bother, mine in kitchen, hall, downstairs loo were all
on
the lighting prototype but after a few days the novelty wore off and we
used
them just on  or off since.
