Actually this is a sensible comment but badly put ... those single
unit
ACs were originally intended for installation in US windows (similar t our
ols
sash windows) hence the name window rattlers. They had the reputation for
being
unefficient, noisy and only lasting a couple of years. These ones *MAY* be
different but again as effectively a single unit AC I'd be
wary...

After the
earlier problems the Homebase unit is going back, just wasn't up t the
job. I have now found a unit at Wickes that is designed for
through-wall mounting. Has anyone experience of these units and
imparticular variations on the mounting options?
