You can of course use a relay contact in
place
of the thermostat/timer and avoid even having to try to figure out the
internal
wiring of the boiler.
On mine personally the heating side of the
combi is
controlled by a triac which has t be sufficient rating to carry the pump
current. A relay would have been simpler.

Scary stuff, I wanted t do this in my
last
house that had a combi,
here's the hurdles:
1. You need to find
out
what wiring fires the boiler on from both the
boiler stat and the room
stat.
2. If it's off the internal timer, or a separate timer, you
need
to
isolate which wires switch the boiler stat, t bring the boiler
on.
3. You need to find the *INTERNAL* switching voltage of the
boiler,
some
operate on 24V, some on 12V and most on 240AC.
Then you can
start to figure out how or what you want t
do.

I am clueless when it comes to electrics so I
thought I would ask before

blow somthing up!
I would like t

able t control my gas combi boiler using X10 but am
not
to sure how

go about it.
The central heating works on a built in timer at the moment
(not while
it's
this hot though!) but there is a thermostat in the
garage (where the
boiler
is).
Would it be possible to replace this
thermostat with an AD10 ? I think
the
thermostat switches 220V live
though. Does that sound
right?
