I have also seen this advice given, and would usually concur... however, in
my case, I have a couple of downstairs doors between the lounge &
dining
room t the hall which are the original Victorian solid timber doors, they
are nearly 2" thick, and I can barely lift one as they are so heavy.
These
doors are considerably more substantial than either of my outer doors! -
ain't no way anyone's kicking their way through these! They also have very
substantial steel hinges on them, s they're not going t be kicked off the
hinge either. In this case I have fitted a substantial dead lock already to
one of them, and plan to d the same to other when that door is
reconditioned (I had them both dipped some time ago, but have only got
round
to reconditioning one of them so far.) I got my local locksmith t source
me
a several deadlocks that use the same key, so I will only have 1 key for
about 5 doors around the house.
I would have t agree though, that I will >not< be bothering t lock
any of
the internal doors that I have had to replace with new modern ones, - those
things are flimsy by comparison!
