Re: SMS t PC was [OT]'ish - Genies' Free Sim

Nope, my phone does not but that is because this particular one
(3210) does not have an inbuilt modem. I had sort of thought (hoped)
the data would come across the 'programming' serial interface rather
than the modem interface. If I do need t use a phone with an inbuilt
modem t do this then it's not a problem.
I
hadn't expected that the phonemighto send an AT command when it
received a message as the extended Hayes command set doesn't seem t
have a suitable one. Perhaps it uses an adaption of the ring or CLI
commands t do this ? Is the text & header of the message
presented as well ? if so it's a doddle.

Does the phone not send an AT command
when it receives the message?
I have a Siemens TC35 at home (A standalone modem/phone thingy) and it
sends AT commands when a message is received.
I am trying to figure a way of receiving these in Homeseer or an
external programme tied into homeseer.

Yes you can. Was done way back when the Nokia 2140 was the in
thing.
You could now even use one of the mobile phones units on an
ISA/PCI card

Can you do this ??? ie have a
mobile phone permanently connected to a PC that will transfer any SMS
text messages it receives t the PC ? & vv ? It would be ideal way
to control a HA setup or receive alarm / status messages.
Currently I
can send SMS from my PC but not receive it so I'm half way there.
