In my case SWMBO often ant t watch the same video of DVD but I hate the
little 14" SWMBO is quite happy with. In my case then the answer is
yes, it
is worth the hasstle and upset.

Hi Ian,

As you well know from your various visits I'm looking at doing this sort of
stuff t o (and already implementing it using Keiths KAT5's).

I tend t look at this kind of thing from a different perspective ... the
way I look at it is "OK ... it would be nice t pipe the VCR round the
house
but will it be useable?" The reason for this is a VCR is a finite
entertainment source - just as a single disc DVD player is - and so you
have
t stick a tape in there t watch and then run upstairs t watch it. If you
want t watch a different tape then you have t come back downstairs and
swap out the tapes.

The devices I see as usefull for distribution aroond the home would be
pretty much anything that has a "library" or multi-content
facility such as
satellite, On Digital boxes, DVD jukeboxes etc. For single play DVD players
I woud tend t look at this and say "Well, for £150 I can get a
standalone
player which will give me extra flexibility" ... the same applies t
VCRs
where a perfectly reasonable player can be had for about £90.
