Glad someone else has had some problems with Efnet (in the nicest
possible way) I was worrying it was just me after Stuart's comments :)

That can be both an advantage and disadvantage of smaller networks.
As co-owner of a network I have seen some bad sides of the opers and
founders being so close t the users over the last 18 months or so.
But it does generally mean the network runs better and servers and
services are fully maintained and the opers are easy t find when you
need them. Finding an oper on the large networks such as Dalnet,
Efnet etc is an art in itself :)

Our user base is pretty much split between techies and non-techies.
Satellite/Cable etc type peeps and some MP3 fans with their own
client in development. As you can imagine, the MP3 group tends t
occasionally attract some dodgy characters and at one stage (approx
12 months ago) even caused a DDOS attack on our network from a
competing group on Efnet. Fortunately our ISP is very good and they
quickly put a stop t it! Hmmm... I seem t have digressed.

Still, it wasn't a complete waste of my time setting up one the the
alternative channels since it found a small bug in my web echo script
which I have now fixed. I had even setup a selection of Vhosts for
the group t use. More fun playing around with the server, channel
and bot than working would have been ... hehe

Mark.
