Re: AV Room

Think of all the gas those eggs would create, it would need a big extract fan in the AV room!

Egg cartons don't do Jack I'm afraid...

...it's one of those urban myths.

Egg cartons do soak up a percentage of *reflections* of sound above about 12kHz but do nothing t stop sound escaping.

From what I have seen of sound proof test chambers, keep all those old egg cartons and stick them t the walls. :o)

Wey Hey! it looks as though I will be able t convert our Den into a bigger room for AV use. I know several of you have dedicated AV rooms, what materials did you use for construction, I have bedrooms above so noise insulation  is important. Are there any design criteria as t ceiling height t floor area, should I have heavy curtains at the back t stop reflections?

Any advice would be appreciated as I am at the design stage now.
