Reading through what I can find from past discussions it seems mainly
limited t a few objectors. If we do not manage fast track but get t
a CFV we only need a majority of 12 votes to get the group. I am
quite sure we can manage that even if we have to flush some lurkers
out :) Even Claus(?) eventually seemed t come around to supporting
the creation of the group t a degree, but I am not sure if that was
just t shut people up.

I definitely see more messages here on the list than c.h.a. so any
objection based on traffic is pretty much redundant unless we can use
it t close them down <g>.

Not sure how much turnover of members we have on the list but from
what I have read re newsgroup creation, the number of messages should
more than qualify us for a big 8 application let alone the uk
hierarchy which is supposed t be easier! I actually thought there
were more than 327 members of the list but I guess Phil sometimes
seems like several hundred all by himself ;)

If it were not for the lack of access points available we could skip
the main hierarchies and go with free.uk or something, but since some
ISPs refuse t carry them so it is not worth it.

Mark.
