I don't think anyone else has replied t  Brians post so I will have a go.

You can move the cable t  the new position then reconnect it, if you have
to
extend it you would get the best results if you replace the whole length as
any joint will increase signal loss.

The meter used was to measure the signal strength and allow the fitters to
align the dish, the longer the cable run the more signal loss you will get,
maybe someone knows how far you can go without the signal dropping out.

To get the signal t  the TV and VCR, if you are only using the UHF
connection run your Ariel signal t  the sky box then t  your distribution
amp or straight down t  the TV and VCR, if you use a scart or phono
connection then maybe Keiths Kat5 units would help.
