I would imagine there might be problems between manufacturers.

I have seen the "WiFi" logo on quite a few new product reviews
(Dan gave me
this useful site http://www.practicallynetworked.com)
and from what others
have told me this seems to be certification that they are interoperable?

Someone who has experience of this stuff will know a lot more than me.
