Okay,
I have been a busy bee over the last few days, talking to Barclay's
Bank, and the Register about freebox.
I am fairly convinced now that this is a scam, and The Reg have been
investigating. Keiren reckons they will post a story this morning,
after sorting out some legal issues.
He (in good journalistic style) remained vague this morning as to what
way the story would fall, but it looks pretty likely that it's fraud.
On another note, I have been advised by Barclays Bank (freebox listed
them as their bankers) that whilst they cannot disclose banking info to
a third party, any non-proviison of goods within a reasonable time
scale can and should be reported to the police as fraud.
I'll wait for the reg story, then call my local plod shop.
Ian.
