I agree absolutely. The eGroups solution is much better since I can
either receive emails, digests, or read on-line, and quite often jump
between those settings depending on where I'm going to be for the
next few weeks.

I really don't want to have to start reading about UKHA in more than
one technology.

I was on various USENET groups between 1989-1995, and saw the
signal/noise ratio gradually deteriorate so it became a total waste
of time. I retried a few groups in about 1998 and was digusted at the
amount of inappropriate babble in there.

OK, so I post inappropriate babble in here as well, but at least I
tend to flag it up as OT.
