Just to continue the trend of off topic conversations ;->

Very strange one this..... Came into the office this morning to find a
funny hissing noise, coming from a 3com 16 port hub.... Our "IT
technician" who's on nighshift emailed me saying

"The hissing noise is coming from the 3com hub, don't know why. Please
unplug the power from it on Friday night incase it catches fire"....!!

Anybody have any suggestions about what / why something in a hub does this.
I don't know what the components inside a hub are, but would imagine
they're pretty simple... and not the sort of thing to hiss.

(The hissing noise is quite loud..... it sounds like somebody put a nail
through a gas pipe!)

Cheers
