Usually I try to have boards and carpets back down by the end of a
day, and keep long jobs for a Saturday, but occasionally there's
something left for another day or two.  I keep myself strictly to one
cable run at a time, which does wonders for domestic harmony, and I
can't recommend highly enough the tools mentioned on my retro-wiring
webpage to keep disruption to a minimum, especially the drain rods!

What price progress, I usually ask, while ducking to avoid flying
