I was running one for the best part of a year before moving house to a
non-NTL serviced area.

I was generally very happy with the service as it stood ... I'll agree that
sometimes it does go down for an hour or so but when you've a decent speed
connection which is a flat rate then your internet useage changes
completely.

Put it this way - I was so happy with the service (at £49.99 a month) that
I'm pushing a friend of mine who works on the NTL Internet service
development team constantly as he's working on the cablemodem rollout for
the area that I've moved into.

At £49.99 it was a bargain ... there were three of use sharing my previous
house and we had 13 machines networked and accessing the internet via the
service. We went from about £100 a month internet phone bills and a
constantly tied up line to a freely available line and a flat rate of £50.
Superb! At £25 a month (I thought you had to buy the modem ... a friend
who's just had this service installed in Reading has still had to buy one)
it's a no-brainer.

Phil

I have it, and it works very well. Be prepared for the odd period of total
outage tho (hasn't been one for a couplo months thankfully) and the
occasional failure of the inktomi transparent caches. But on the whole, it
rocks. Well worth the money.
