Hi Pete,
I work at BT Adastral Park and we were offered some plasma screens from the
BT zone in the dome. We rejected them on the following grounds.
They were a VGA resoulution for the PC inputs which is way too low
They had been in constant use for between 12 and 15 months, possibly being
on for between 18-24 hours per day and had been cycling through the same
content every x minutes. We have some 21" plasma screens that show a
scrolling powerpoing presentation and one of the screens is always the
same. That image was starting to burn the screen after only a few months.
Just look in any amusement arcade and you will probably be able to read the
high scores whatever is being displayed.
At the time the dome was being built a 42" VGA plasma was about 10K.
You can now get a 42" XGA plasma for under 6K.
Still not cheap I know but the prices are now much lower for screens of a
much better resolution.
Not wishing to put people off but merely pointing out that this kit has
been subjected to extreme use.
Keith

All
You might be interested in this - they seem to be selling EVERYTHING,
including lots and lots of plasma screen TVs, plus loads of other AV &
security bits and pieces.
Check out www.henrybutcher.com and follow the Dome links. No guide prices
unforutnatly :-(
