Would it be feasible to build an MP3 decoder with a PIC micro and DAC chip,
asuming you had the necessary programming skills?
I know you can get PICs up to about 20MHz, but I wonder if that is fast
enough to decode a stream in real time...?
I know you can buy an LP3 module that does a similar thing.
Also, I know there's a dedicated MP3 decoding chip (well, Keith said so!) -
what's the feasibility of adding a DAC(?) etc. and rolling your own that
way? Stero amplifiers are relatively simple to build as there are many
published circuits out there.
Just musing whilst waiting to get an ePods....
