Chiu,

There is 1 more thing you can do with option 2 below to make it better by
ringing ALL phones. To do this, you will need an unused CO on your phone
system (a CO is the line coming into your house). For example, I have a
4x16 phone system (4 CO's). But, I only have 2 lines, so I have 2 extra
CO's. I programmed my phone system for 3 CO's, but made the 3rd one not
available to any extension for outgoing calls (which makes sense since I
only have 2 lines). This ensures that when I pick up an extension to make
a
call, the extension only connects to line 1 or line 2 (whichever is
available) and not to line 3.

Now you connect the TEL OUT of Comfort to the 3rd CO input on the phone
system. Thus, when Comfort rings this, the phone system thinks there is an
incoming call on line 3 and rings ALL phones.

I really like this setup in my house. Any phone can connect to the Comfort
extension and access the keypad functions. Any phone can answer the keypad
at the door. All phones ring when the doorbell is pressed. Comfort takes
voice messages for calls on both line 1 and line 2.

The only downside, as you have mentioned, is that Comfort can not take
control of 1 of the lines in order to dial out in an emergency. This is
not
a problem for me.
