There are a number of ways to use signal from a number of cameras ranging
from  simple multiplexers to ready built units including capture cards. I
had a relay setup using x10, homeseer and webcam which would allow
switching
via the internet, using the IR on comfort it would also record. Keith, the
nice chap that he is, gave me advice for building a simple multiplexer
which
works fine but due to re-wiring cat 5, it is not currently connected.

The big question is what do you want to do ? If you require video evidence
you will need (so I am told) date and time stamping. If you require to
record or view somebody approaching the house then even the simplest
switching rigged to PIR's or via alarm (e.g. comfort)

Using modulators could prove expensive. Response do a four camera unit
video
and audio which is selling for less than £ 30 stock clearance at some
stores. The only trouble with this is it is built to suit their units and
may require a little wiring.
