Just went to Deja.com to check some newsgroups, and get informed that
google.com now own them. Furthermore, the following message is on the
front
page:

Due to time and technical constraints, it is not feasible for Google to

Why is it that companies keep taking over others and offering an inferior
service (a la eGroups/Yahoo)?

Any alternatives to Deja for web-based newsgroup browsing (as our firewall
seems to block NNTP)?
