Have a look at Nigels IR page for an idea of what it does. The link is
http://www.geocities.com/nigelorr/ir_extend.html

I have made some PCB's for this circuit which come in two flavours. There
is
a transmitter and receiver pair or an 'all in one' board. They can be mixed
and matched as they work on a one wire bus theory. At the moment the only
thing to be careful about is there is no feedback protection. This means:-
the Tx sends out a signal and the Rx in the same room picks it up, it then
sends it to the Tx and the process goes round and round. The IR emitters we
are currently using are quite directional so careful positioning solves the
problem. I hope to build in some protection but am having to learn about
electronics first.

At the moment I am doing the boards for 3 pounds each (Tx and Rx pair count
as one board). Kits etc. are simply the cost of parts on top. Pre-built -
haven't thought about it but a little on top I guess to cover time etc.

I have sent a picture of the early prototypes to your hotmail account since
it is about 50k. The coin is a one pound. I don't have a picture of the
'all
in one' handy at the moment.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions.

Ian

Ian,

>I can do you IR repeater PCB or Kits a la NIgels circuit on his web

What can you do again? - I may be interested in one now, as I spent a good
few hours last night grovelling around in soot, fibre-glass insulation, and
old wasps-nests' mounting some flush speakers in my bathroom ceiling to
form
part of the eventual whole-house audio system.

So now I will also need control from the bathroom, and I already have a PIR
in the opposite corner to the bath, in an ideal place to mount an IR
receiver. (This is the first stage, which I hope will get me WAF to proceed
with a full-on setup)

So, what do/can you do? - fully assembled & ready to use would be ny
preference, but I can manage a bit of simple soldering if necessary.
I'm sure you've probably stated all this before, so sorry for asking
again....

Cheers.

Paul G.
