I plugged one of my recently aquired Homebase AM12's in, having used many LM12's before.

I plugged a fan into it, which was the only appliance that I had to hand.  I turned it on and off a couple of times with my OFA.
Then whenever I pressed the ON button, the AM12 clicked about three times, but didnt turn the fan on.  I changed the house and unit codes but still the click and no on.  I sent a few offs to it, then a few ons and no response (apart from the clicks).  I even plugged lamps that I control with the LM's into it (know they wouldnt dim) and still no joy.

So I have - I assume - a dead AM12.  I was surprised that it blew so quickly.  Do they go often?  I've heard of the relay contacts fusing with high loads.  Or have I commited a crime by plugging a fan in?

I'm glad I bought it cheap from homebase though, should even get a replacement today.

Matthew
