The Spanish for ISDN is RDSI - Red Digitales Servicios Integrados, where
"Red" is pronounced "Reth".

It's certainly widely available from Telefonica, but I don't know anything
about how local loop unbundling is going out there. Make sure you ask for a
EuroISDN switch type, though. (Sorry - can't remember if you _need_ to ask,
but always worth specifying on the continent since it works with most
everything.)

If no-one else answers on the subject of free ISPs, then email me privately
and I'll get one of my more geeky former colleagues to advise.

Regards,

Mark

Subject: [ukha_d] ISDN in Spain, CCTV and stuff

Hi guys,

(Just got back from a couple of days in Holland to find lots of messages
and
changeover to YahooGroups.... need to read through and work out exactly
what
has changed - hopefully this will reach the list :-)

Another OTish request (only half OTish!).... I've just been told that my MD
wants some new toys setup in his house. He has a house in Glasgow, and one
in Spain. He wants ISDN internet access in Spain (I get to program the
Cisco
router over here for him to take out there if it will work...!) - Does
anybody have any idea of what I should be looking for ? He's in quite a
remote location apparantley, which I know matters for ADSL or whatever its
called over there?

Anybody have any info about free ISP's in Spain - he wants his laptop set
with a dialup account for other locations within Spain without huge call
charges.

Last point - he wants access to CCTV cameras in the two properties from
anywhere in the world over the internet. He is willing to pay for decent
quality CCTV etc. Any pointers on good CCTV suppliers and a smart way to
multiplex several cameras (unsure as to exact number yet) and post it as a
reasonable resolution webcam image (with private access only of course!)
bearing in mind the installation will be mirrored in Spain too....!

Any help very much appreciated. :-)

Doogie
