The kitchen....

...hmm .... didn't I hear a story about someone not having enough CAT5 in their kitchen or something? ;-)

I LOVE having cable everywhere.  Take this morning for example.  I wired up the 2nd DDAR (that’s been sitting in the loft up until now) into the MiniDisc input on the new mini HiFi for the kitchen I got my Mrs for Christmas.

I took the blanking plate off the wall and terminated one of the two CAT5s behind it.  Went to the patch panel and patched that socket into the hub.  Hey presto – 5000 tracks available in the kitchen.

Not Anti Stuart, but I've managed to get by without it so far. I came to
Home Automation after the place had been built so I've tried to do
everything without running miles of cables. Now that I'm looking at a
new build, all of the kit that I've acquired doesn't seem to need it ;-)

Tim.
