I would go for a local supplier, like Tracey knows a good one, but the name
escapes me & "cat5" is too general a search term on this list
to be of any
use :-) I beleive the high 20's or low 30's is a good price to pay for 300
meters of cat5.

cat5e will allow you to take advantage of such things as gigabit ethernet
when it drops in price.

liunge, and now I still need more :-(
