I suppose it depends on the user (you).  For me it wouldn't be useful, as
the only portable I carry is a Palm.  For you I can see it would be great.

I did once, back in about 1995 or so when the first one opened in London.
It cost £5 for an hour and I was well into it - so much so, I bought my
first modem.  In fact, I got my first modem in 1994, so it must have been
before that.
