Steve, I suggest if you have the disk space, then only capture in full mode, rather than preview mode. I have found that when it does the final capture on your edited version it can be upto 0.5 seconds out, which on a tight edit is very significant.

I am glad somebody recommended it, as a trip to Jessops was made over the weekend, and a copy of Pinnacle DV was purchased!

So far so good; it installs any runs. I will see the quality of the results when I get around to producing something later this week.

Thanks - Steve

Personally I use Pinnacle 7, and have been very pleased with its ease of use and results especially considering the cost of it Vs something more 'professional' like Adobe Premier - if you go for Pinnacle I found that changing the rendering on Transitions to 'hardware' rather than 'software' produced much much better results.

Take a look at www.vcdhelp.com as they have many reviews and comments on various capture, editing and burning software as well as various hardware, including freeware and shareware options.

Mark

Why not buy a MAC with iMovie to edit DV movies and iDVD to write them to
DVD better than most
