Thanks for the help guys - my amp turned up today so you have probably
saved
me buying a new subwoofer!
I'll get some audio interconnects and use the amp pre-out to sub input.

If amp has a power cable it is active and needs line level
(non-amplified) signal from the sub pre-out on your main amp. This
connection should not be made with speaker wire. I used the same
interconnect cable I had for my other components but bought a 17m run
off the reel to get all the way round from my amp to my subs.
