I'm not sure -
I intended to take the amp SW out into wall plate, then down speaker cable
to sub input...but now I am not sure.
The sub does have it's own power cable so I guess it is active - what
signal
should I be taking from the amp to the sub then? Do I need to take the sub
pre-out from the amp instead?
BTW: What is line-level exactly - the amplified or non-amplified signal?

Woah, hang on a mo!
It sounds like this is an active subwoofer with a line-level input. Are you
pushing an amplified signal to it from another amp? If so, you're gonna
blow
the sucker up! Or are you just using speaker cable for the line-level
signal.

Thanks, but I didn't explain myself well enough - I have speaker cable that
terminates at a wall plate already - the other end of the cable runs under
the carpet to the subwoofer location. This end of the cable is bare wire
and I need it to be a male phono plug. This end just pokes up out of the
carpet and needs to feed directly into the sub without having to install a
new wall plate.
Any ideas?
Regards,
-Dan

If you're handy with a drill and soldering iron, then for a couple of quid
you too can build the following:
