hmmm...

Try taking the PCB out and trace the track from pin 7 of the IC...It should
lead to a link....failing that you could try cutting pin 7 on the IC
directly but it will be harder to reverse the mod if it doesn't work :-(

FYI: Don't know if you know how an IC's pins are ordered...here's a
diagram:

Looking from the top of the IC (pins pointing down) D represents the notch
in IC's body..
