Thanks for all the replies guys - didn't want to pay the extortionate prices for some of those fancy leads - I'm not really an audiophile.  The two units are side by side on the unit so I'll use one of the many proper yellow video leads I have accumulated over the years as suggested by Mark.  Funnily enough we use a hell of a lot of those optical cables at work - I'll see if Ican get one with the correct fittings on the end, or failing that a decent 75 ohm coax one. 
 
A 'yellow' video lead (composite) is pretty much the same as a 75 ohm coax ;)
That's what I'm using because I can't be bothered to solder some phonos onto some coax - it will probably remain until I actually need a composite video lead (yuck) with pretty yellow plugs on, or find that I need a longer lead after re-positioning the DVD player....
