Hi all

I thought you may be interested in what I have done with a X10 mini timers:

I had a couple of these spare following on from my raids of homebase
earlier
this year.

I wanted to be able to have some sensing, feedback into homeseer, i.e.
Garage Door Open, Back Gate Open, doorbell pressed etc..

I have come up with a butchered solution, which uses the circuit boards
from
the mini timer -

The switches on the top of the minitimer are a dimpled affair on the
circuit
board, so I have removed these and soldered cables in their place, which
are
then connected through a relay to a switch in the outside world, - i.e. a
reed relay switch on the back gate for example.

So now when someone opens the back gate I get an X10 "P1 ON" sent
to
homeseer.

This has allowed me to interface 4 switches into homeseer for a few quid,
rather than buying powerflash modules.

The obvious disadvantage with the minitimer is the lack of transmission
distances, I have overcome this by locating this box in node 0 and so it
transmits nicely :-)

Hope this is of some interest, I'll post some more words and pictures up in
the next few days, when I have finished the decorating!

Regards

Daniel
