I got into a friendly (well I think it was friendly!)
debate
with Mark on
Messenger last night regarding CAT5 in my new
home.
I don’t think I need it, he thinks I should put it
in
anyway.
Bearing in mind the long dimension is likely to be 10-15
metres and on a single floor.
I use wireless LAN for
networking
I’ve got a cordless
PBX
I’m going to buy a new Marantz
RC5200 with RF-IR module
I’ve got no need for whole house
audio
I’m going to install shed loads of LD-11s plus
Touchlincs and Homeseer (I
may
buy a Homevision, but due to problems linking it
into
my plasma I’ll only do it if Homeseer
isn’t
up to the job) for lighting and curtain
control.
Can anyone think of good pratical
uses for CAT5 in my particular case?
Two on topic posts in two days – that must be a
record.
